Hulhumale Mosque

Hulhumale Mosque remains a popular sacred site in Hulhumalé, Maldives. This is a new mosque built around 2006. It is huge and can house over 900 people.

It has a beautiful golden dome made of crystal triangles and held up on trusses. It has a modern looking fact and can accommodate around 1,500 worshippers at a time. The spacious prayer jall has been divided into areas for men and women. Interior walls of the mosque showcase carvings of verses from Koran. Its architectural design is worth observing which makes it unique in the Islamic world.
