Har ki Pauri is perhaps the most popular place in Haridwar. This is the most sacred and visited ghat of the city. It is said that during the extraction of amrit, few drops fell on the Brahmakund Ghat of Har ki Pauri. Every evening a huge Ganga aarti is hosted at this ghat which is a soul soothing experience. After the aarti, pilgrims leave beautifully decorated clay lamps on the glittering waters of River Ganga. Sit along the ghat during late evening hours to feel the calmness of the place.
Mansa Devi Temple is a must visit temple in Haridwar. The temple is located on the peak of Bilwa Parvat and can be accessed by taking a cable car ride or by trekking. This is among the holiest places for Hindu devotees. Bharat Mata Mandir is another spectacular temple of the city. It is dedicated to Bharat Mata, human incarnation of Mother India. It is an eight-storey building with different levels dedicated to different forms of gods, humans, great leaders and martyrs. Hindu pilgrims also visit the very popular Chandi Devi Temple raised by King Suchat Singh. It is said that this is the spot where Goddess Chandi killed Chanda-Munda.
Also visit Neel Dhara Pakshi Vihar in Haridwar where you can spot a large number of migratory birds. The place is perfect to enjoy vistas of the most exotic and rare Indian species and capture them in your camera lens. The place is visited by many wildlife photographers.
