North East India

Comprising of the eight gems of the easternmost part of India, the North East comprises of the states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Nagaland, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Tripura, and Manipur. The northeast region has everything to make you fall in love with it. Housing some of the concealed destinations of India, Northeast offers a pristine ambience with clouds floating right next to you, beautiful rivers, and never ending stretches of green.

Cultures
You can find a mix of Hindu, Christianity, Muslim as well as Buddhism here. Home to numerous tribal groups like Khasi, Garo and Jaintia, the region boasts of a unique culture. Locals of North East India lead a simple life and most of them indulge in agricultural activities like tea farming or making handicrafts.

Attractions
Kaziranga National Park in Assam is one of the most fascinating attractions in North East India. One can spot the endangered one horned rhinos here, and also indulge in a safari amidst the natural beauty.

Manas National Park, also in Assam is the only home of tigers in the North East India. You can enjoy an exciting safari experience at this UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Tawang Monastery in Arunacha Pradesh is one of the most picturesque monasteries in the world. Resting at an elevation of 10,000 feet, people visit this monastery to grab a surreal experience and enjoy the breathtaking views of the Tawand River.

Nathu La pass remains a major star of North East India connecting the Indian state of Sikkim with China's Tibet Autonomous Region. Here, you can spot the pristine Tsomgo Lake apart from beautiful Mandakini Waterfalls and Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir.

The adventure enthusiasts can experience the thrill of river rafting at the Siang River. Siang River is a tributary of the Brahmaputra River and is blessed with all the wonders of Mother Nature.

Cherrapunji, which is counted among the wettest places in the world, is famous for its living root bridges. These look extremely beautiful and present a very different façade of nature.

Located in the center of Meghalaya, the Jaintia hills are another major attraction of the Northeast region. Boasting of huge limestone deposits, the Jaintia hills has numerous caves of all shapes and sizes, and some of which have no sunlight access.
